Aer Lingus has confirmed its electronic passenger check-in and bag tag/drop facilities at Dublin Airport’s Terminal 2 are back up and running as normal, following five days of manual processes following last weekend’s Europe-wide airport system cyber attack.

In an update on its website, Aer Lingus said the following, today:

Following a recent cyber-attack on a third-party system which impacted check-in and boarding across European airports, Aer Lingus systems are today being restored and services are operating normally.

As a continued precaution, we are asking all customers to take the following actions where possible to support a smooth journey.

  1. Check in online or via the Aer Lingus App in advance. Please bring your boarding card with you (printed or on your phone).
  2. If you have 10kg bag you can proceed straight to the gate where your bag will be checked in at no charge.
  3. Customers with the Aer Lingus App travelling from Dublin with 20kg bags should use our new bag tag and drop kiosks which will make the check-in process easier.
  4. Customers travelling from Dublin with 20ks bags can also consider availing of our Bag Drop Service the evening before. For flights between 05:30–08:00, you can drop your bags off in Dublin Airport the evening before between 16:00–22:00.

We sincerely appreciate our customers’ patience and cooperation during this period of unfortunate disruption.
