Aer Lingus Adds 12,000 Seats to France and Spain for Summer 2016

Aer Lingus has announced an additional 12,000 seats to France and Northern Spain for the peak summer 2016 period with the addition of an extra aircraft to its short-haul fleet. Operated by British Airways CityFlyer, the additional capacity will be provided by adding an Embraer 190 aircraft to Aer Lingus’s fleet on weekends between 28th May and 4th September 2016.

Now available for sale on Aerlingus.com, the aircraft will operate on weekends during the peak summer 2016 period from Dublin to popular French destinations Nice, Lyon and Perpignan and to Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

Keith Butler, Chief Commercial Officer, Aer Lingus, said: “We are delighted to be introducing additional capacity from Dublin to Southern France and Northern Spain during the peak summer 2016 period. Partnering with BA CityFlyer on this route allows Aer Lingus to take advantage of additional capacity available within International Airlines Group during the busy summer peak season by utilising an Embraer aircraft that provides exceptional comfort and a guaranteed aisle or window seat to our guests.

“The addition of these weekend services provides Aer Lingus with the opportunity to cater for the increased demand that we are seeing during the peak summer 2016 period and provides our guests with additional choice when flying to one of these popular destinations.

“With Euro 2016 also taking place during June, these additional flights provide Irish soccer fans with extra options when travelling to France for the tournament.”

The Embraer 190 is a modern twin-engine jet airliner with a total capacity of 98 seats. The aircraft offers ample space in the guest cabin, with easy access to the overhead lockers and guest benefits including no middle seats (exclusively window and aisle seats).
