Advantage Travel Centres, to which Northern Ireland’s Consort Travel Group is affiliated, is supporting Reuben’s Retreat charity in its bid to raise £1 million for a retreat and counselling centre in memory of Reuben Graham who died of a rare cancer.
Established by Reuben’s parents, Nicola Graham of Red Sea Holidays and Mike Graham of Celebrity Cruises, the charity will build a retreat in North West England’s countryside for children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses with a support and bereavement counselling centre for their families.
Advantage works closely with Nicola and Mike as Red Sea Holidays and Celebrity Cruises are preferred business partners of the consortium. Reuben’s Retreat has been adopted as the charity for the Advantage Conference taking place in Malaga from 9th – 12th May 2013 where money will be raised through a raffle and auction. From now until the conference members and staff will be encouraged to support the charity to help it reach its target.
John McEwan, Chief Executive of Advantage Travel Centres, said: “We are keen to support such a worthy cause and help Nicola and Mike achieve their ambition of building what will be a fabulous support centre for sick children and their families.”
Nicola Graham said: “We are overwhelmed and humbled by Advantage’s decision to kindly support Reuben’s Retreat from now and through to their conference. To each and every member that helps us and supports us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts, it really means so very much to us at a time when our lives have been torn apart. We miss our precious boy dreadfully and knowing we have support is a big help to us for Reuben’s journey, the retreat and our grief.”
