A Third of Irish Holidaymakers Buy Cheapest Travel Insurance, Research Shows

A third of Irish holidaymakers buy the cheapest travel insurance they can find, without focusing on the coverage they fully need, according to new research from travel insurance specialist, Multitrip.com.

The research also shows that only 31% check that the cancellation limit amount would cover the cost of their holiday if they had to cancel before travelling.

Multitrip.com’s Jason Whelan said: “It’s really important to do your research when buying travel insurance to make sure that you put in place the right cover for you.”

“At Multitrip.com, we offer 3 levels of cover with optional add-ons so customers could tailor the cover to suit their needs. It’s important for customers to review the policy they choose carefully, paying attention to the various coverage limits, excesses, and key add-ons such as Winter Sports and Travel Disruption coverage.”
