The new 2012 edition of the Michelin Guide has awarded 13 Copenhagen restaurants, including four new ones, a total of 14 stars – more than any other Scandinavian city.
Noma keeps its two stars and finally Rasmus Kofoed’s restaurant Geranium achieved a Michelin star. Another new Michelin restaurant is Relæ with head chef Christian Puglisi, formerly chef at Noma. Groenbech & Churchill (Danish webpage edit.) and Den Roede Cottage are also now Michelin restaurants.
In 2012 Copenhagen’s restaurants have also been awarded a total of 12 Bib Gourmands.
The popular food festival, Copenhagen Cooking, which has become the biggest food festival of the North, will run from 24th August – 2nd September 2012 and, for the third time, in a winter edition in February 2013.
