Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines received three prestigious awards at the Airline Economics Aviation 100 European & Sustainability Awards 2025.
These accolades – Sustainability Team of the Year, European Treasury Team of the Year and Sustainability Aviation Financing Excellence Awards – highlight Pegasus’ strong team collaboration and pioneering role in sustainable aviation, its commitment to integrating environmental and social goals into its financial strategy and delivering innovative financing solutions across the aviation sector.
Sustainability Team of the Year
Pegasus’ Sustainability Team was named Sustainability Team of the Year in recognition of Pegasus’ value creation through a holistic approach and cross-functional ESG strategy including its climate transition roadmap, gender balance initiatives, and strong governance structure with transparent reporting practices.
European Treasury Team of the Year
The airline’s Treasury Team was awarded European Treasury Team of the Year for its diverse and leading-edge financing transactions that closed in 2024 and 2025. These includes several aircraft financings, sustainability-linked structures, Eurobond issuance, financing of the constructions of hangar buildings at Sabiha Gökçen Airport, spare engine financings and the industry’s first engine maintenance transaction which was supported under France’s export credit agency (ECA) BpiFrance’s credit insurance programme.
Sustainability Aviation Financing Excellence Award
Pegasus received the Sustainability Aviation Financing Excellence Award for its Sustainability-Linked JOLCO financing of three Airbus A321neo aircraft, executed in partnership with SMFL and SMBC. In this transaction, both the debt and equity components were directly linked to the company’s long-term sustainability targets.
