Norwegian Air Shuttle has formally started flying Denmark’s fist domestic flight route powered by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The route – between Copenhagen and Aalborg – will be operated by planes with 40% SAF powering them, and forms part of Denmark’s national green aviation strategy aimed at cutting aviation carbon emissions.
The launch of the service comes as SAF hits a crossroads – the EU pushing for increased SAF use around European airports, but with current demand far outweighing small supply levels.
