Energy Firm Power2X to Develop SAF Production and Storage Facility at Port of Rotterdam

International sustainable energy company Power2X is set to develop a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production and storage facility in the Netherlands at the Port of Rotterdam.

Power2X is developing the project in partnership with terminal storage company Advario and aims to have an annual output rate of more than 250,000 tonnes of SAF and synthetic ultra low carbon fuels.

The site could be key in the future of European aviation as it would have direct and easy access to many of the continent’s airports allowing easy distribution of fuel.

The size of the project could also allow for around 40% of required SAF volume for the European market.
