Wizz Air Targeting Return to Profit Next Year

Wizz Air expects to return to profit next year.

The Hungarian low fares carrier – a growing rival to Ryanair and EasyJet across Europe – has reported a net profit of €33.5m for the third quarter of its current financial year, which covers the three months to the end of December.

Revenue for the period grew by over 120% to just under €912m.

Wizz still expects to make a loss for its current financial year – which runs to the end of March – but anticipates a return to profitability in its next financial year.

The company said it is currently seeing improved year-on-year booking levels.
