VisitPITTSBURGH and Pittsburgh International Airport Unveil Training Programme for Irish Travel Agents

An online programme created by Mogul, an e-learning provider and sister company of Black Diamond, designed to give travel agents the skills they need to maximise bookings to the city of Pittsburgh has just launched.

To celebrate the start of this programme, Pittsburgh is offering agents who complete the first module by 10 May a chance to enter a draw to win one of five places on a VisitPITTSBURGH group FAM, departing on 3 June on the newly reinstated British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Pittsburgh. The FAM trip itinerary will include ‘Only in Pittsburgh’ experiences such as a visit to The Andy Warhol Museum and a ‘Burgh Bits & Bites’ food tour.

The programme consists of three modules: an introduction to Pittsburgh, ‘Only in Pittsburgh’ experiences, and city tours. Each of the modules has six lessons and a short quiz. Those who successfully complete the programme will be crowned a Pittsburgh Pro and receive a PDF certificate.

“We’re thrilled to be launching our first ever travel agent training programme at such a critical time. The Irish market is hugely important to us and the return of the British Airways direct flight from London Heathrow only serves to showcase Pittsburgh as an accessible, attractive destination for travellers. Pittsburgh is a city that has it all and we’re excited for our Pittsburgh Pros to learn about what makes our city so special.” said Jerad Bachar, VisitPITTSBURGH CEO.

Situated in southwest Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh is home to a thriving arts and culture scene, world-class food and drink offering, range of outdoor pursuits, and a year-round events calendar.

With hotels ranging from big-name brands to small boutiques, Pittsburgh is a suitable city break for travellers no matter what their budget. Beyond Pittsburgh, visitors can explore the natural beauty of the Laurel Highlands or follow the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP), a beautiful scenic trail that leads cyclist on a seamless connection into Washington, D.C.

More modules, and more competition prizes, will be added to the training platform over time.
