Shannon Airport Launches ‘Park4Less’

Shannon Airport passengers are about to enjoy the country’s cheapest online airport car parking as the airport launches a new Park4Less service to go with the commencement of nine new destinations this summer. Shannon Airport Park4Less

Starting with a month-long introductory offer of just €24.99 per week, Park4Less will open for booking online at www.shannonairport.ie from this week. The Park4Less car park will be located at the former long-term 4 Car Park, adjacent to the Air Traffic Control tower at the airport. To get access to the Park4Less Car Park, simply follow the directional signage on the approach road to the airport.

Announcing the new offer, Brian Aherne, Head of Commercial at Shannon Airport, said that the decision to introduce the lower fares online option was in response to customer feedback. “We continually seek feedback from passengers to help us improve our overall service and as a result we are delighted to introduce our new cheaper online car-parking option. We are looking forward to a busy summer season, with nine new destinations, and are keen to ensure that our passengers have a great start to their holiday.”

Payment for the Park4Less service is by credit/debit card and passengers will need to have the same credit/debit card with them to gain access and entry.

“Our aim is to be the most competitive online parking at an Irish airport,” added Brian. “We are starting with an introductory offer of €24.99 per week. The ‘Park4less’ car park is approximately a 7-9 minutes walk from the airport terminal building and families can also be dropped off at the new set-down and pick-up area outside the airport before the driver parks in the car park. The most important thing for people to remember when they book is that they must have the same credit/debit card with them on departure.”

The initiative is part of a wider investment in parking at Shannon Airport, which has also completed significant works on new set-down and pick-up facilities adjacent to the main terminal building in a further investment in customer service.

The airport has invested close to €300,000 on a covered walk-way, additional parking spaces for disabled drivers, resurfacing, line-marking and a new exit for the new set-down area and short term car park. The new system has been put in place to address security, safety and operational considerations at the front of the terminal building.

The new facilities means that set-down and pick-up directly outside the terminal building is now only for designated operators, including public bus services. However, to facilitate drivers they will be allowed 15 minutes free parking in the set-down area to drop off passengers and luggage.
