New Zealand Borders Fully Reopened As France Also Ends All Covid Entry Restrictions

New Zealand’s borders fully re-opened to visitors from around the world yesterday, for the first time since the covid-19 pandemic closed them in March 2020.

The prime minister, Jacinda Ardern, said the nation was ‘open for business,’ after the final stage of the phased re-opening, which began in April, came to a completion on Sunday night.

Tourists from all countries as well as international students can now enter, including maritime arrivals.

Proof of vaccine continues to be a requirement for travellers entering the country, but there are no longer any quarantine rules.

Passengers travelling by air must complete two antigen tests.

Meanwhile, the French Foreign Office has updated its travel advice to confirm an end to all covid-related restrictions.

It said the rules that previously applied to travellers to France no longer apply.

From today, arrivals no longer need to show proof of vaccination, and there’s no need to fill out any forms prior to arrival.

In addition to this, no travellers, including unvaccinated arrivals have to take a covid test.
