MSC Cruises has eased its Covid restrictions on passengers sailing on its ships departing the US.
MSC has two ships in the US – the MSC Seashore in Miami and the MSC Divina in Port Canaveral.
The company’s new rules require unvaccinated children – aged two years and older – to show proof of a negative Covid test taken within three days of sailing.
Fully vaccinated passengers – who are sailing from the US for a minimum of six nights – must also show proof of a negative test; while fully vaccinated travellers on shorter cruises don’t need to take a test.
Last week Royal Caribbean dropped its requirement for pre-boarding Covid testing for vaccinated passengers – for short cruises, from next week. Unvaccinated guests will still require a negative test prior to departure.
The US’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently dropped its protocol for cruise companies to report Covid cases on their ships.
