Maria Slye, previously Information Officer in Ireland for the Cyprus Tourism Organisation, has started her own business, The Tourist Office. 
The Tourist Office is an outsourcing company for tourist boards, regional tourist boards and tourist enterprises that want to build their presence in Ireland through PR, marketing, and personal contact with the trade. It also serves as a mini information office, to those who may need a presence.
Maria said: “The most wonderful aspect of my new venture is that I will get to work with different types of destinations and products. My clients are long-haul destinations, European city break destinations, as well as the eastern Mediterranean.
“The Cyprus Tourism Organisation regretfully had to close their Dublin office in January this year. It was something that was inevitable, as financial pressures on the country grew, and flights from Ireland to Cyprus decreased. Having worked for Cyprus for nine years, it is a pleasure to continue our relationship as I assist them with various events in Ireland.
