“I never win anything!” said a very happy Joe Tully when presented with his First Prize last night at the Hotel Carmen in Granada, Spain, after winning the ITAA annual conference golf tournament, sponsored by Amadeus Ireland, at the Santa Clara golf course in the Sierra Nevada.
“There isn’t a course in Ireland like it,” he said – a polite way of summing up the views of many of the 30 delegates who played, which were “very difficult”.
That didn’t deter ‘Team Volker’ who won the team prize: Volker Lorenz, Amadeus; Peter O’Hanlon, Travelfinders; Clem Walshe, Lowcostbeds.com; and Graham Hennessy, Topflight.
While the 30 golfers were swearing their way around the course, other delegates took a two-hour walking tour of Granada, following a most pleasant flight on a Sunwing B737-800 from Dublin to Malaga, sponsored by Falcon Holidays, and an equally luxurious coach transfer to Granada, sponsored by A2Btransfers.com – so thanks are due to Helen Caron and Adam McKnight and their respective teams.
