To date, more than 200 people have registered to participate in the Irish Travel Trade Charity Family Fun Day on 1st September and the number continues to grow daily. The schedule of activities (see below) includes a raffle – and among the many prizes will be flights, holidays, luxury hampers, and theme park tickets.
Companies that have entered teams for the Mixed 5-A-Side Football Competition include Blue Insurances, Etihad Airways, One Stop Touring Shop, Sunway, Thomas Cook Ireland, Tour America, Travelport, and Turkish Airlines.
Adult Activities
12.30pm – Fun Run/Walk warm up with Celebrity Guest.
One of the key events of the day will be a 5km Fun Run/Walk. This is for everybody, adults and children, those that are fit and those not so fit, but don’t worry – you will be helped along the way. Participating will certainly help with receiving sponsorship and two worthwhile charities will benefit from your participation. So get those trainers on and start training to help you prepare for the big day.
1pm – 5km Fun Run/Walk will be the first event of the day. The starting and finishing line will be on the ALSAA running track but the majority of the fun run/walk will be cross-country.
2pm – BBQ (will run during activities for the afternoon)
2pm – Mixed 5-A-Side Football (adults only – three guys and two girls or vice versa). This will be a knock-out competition depending on the numbers of teams involved. It will be a fun 5-A-Side.
2pm – Long Jump Competition running during the afternoon.
4pm – Crazy Races Egg and Spoon Race, 3-Legged Race, Sack Race and Mixed Tug O’ War.
5pm – Hallelujah Gospel Choir
6pm – Raffle, Bumper Draw and Prize Giving Ceremony (and time for the bar)
NB: Activities (other than the 5k Fun Run/Walk and Mixed 5-A-Side Football) may differ depending on the weather.
