Expedia TAAP Appoints ATTS in Ireland

The Expedia Travel Agencies Affiliate Programme has announced the appointment of ATTS Travel Representation Solutions as the local business development partner in Ireland starting on 11th February 2013.

After the success of the Expedia TAAP worldwide, Expedia launched the programme in Ireland early in 2012. With about one-third of the Irish agency market already signed up to the Expedia TAAP within the first year in operation in Ireland, ATTS has been chosen to provide additional support and business development for the programme.

“Our development strategy in all Expedia TAAP markets has proven very successful,” said Diego Pedrani, Director for Expedia TAAP Worldwide. “We are happy with the steady growth of the program in Ireland and we are looking forward to ATTS developing the programme to the next level. By appointing a local partner to help develop the relationships with the agencies and give them more dedicated, local support, we hope to help the agents to get the most out of being a partner of Expedia.”

Expedia TAAP is available in 29 markets worldwide with more than 30,000 affiliated travel agencies. Agencies vary from small travel agencies focused on niche services to larger agencies leveraging on Expedia TAAP for great hotel deals.

“The strongest product line among travel agents is our extensive hotel supply where travel agents can take advantage of our huge availability and great price competitiveness on Expedia, added Diego. “Whether it is a last-minute booking or well in advance, the agents know and trust we usually have availability at the best rate. The product speaks for itself: excellent availability; quality-inventory; last-minute bookings with competitive rates available until the same day of departure.”

Recent trading trends also show a growing appetite from travel agencies for city destinations in Western Europe, besides TAAP’s traditional best-seller New York and the USA in general.

“We are delighted to be working with Expedia TAAP as an important addition to our portfolio,” said Catherine Grennell-Whyte, Managing Director of ATTS Travel Representation Solutions. “The vast range of deals Expedia offers for some of the most popular Irish destinations, particularly in North America and Western Europe, makes Expedia’s Travel Agencies Affiliate Programme an ideal solution for travel agencies looking to retain personal relationships with their clients while sourcing great value hotel and travel accommodation for them. With Expedia’s simple but sophisticated search technology we expect to see strong demand for the service as awareness of TAAP increases.”
