Ex-Cork Seats for Summer 2013 Exceed 2m

A record two million-plus seats are available from Cork Airport to more than 50 destinations across the UK and Europe for summer 2013.

Ryanair recently added six routes: Milan, Bordeaux, Carcassonne, Girona, La Rochelle and Pisa. These are in addition to the five extra scheduled services this summer to Gdansk, Krakow, Vilnius, Warsaw and Wroclaw. These 11 routes bring an additional 130,000 seats from Cork Airport this summer, compared with the same period last year, bringing Ryanair’s total to 717,000 summer seats ex-Cork.

Airport Director Niall MacCarthy said: “We have worked very closely with our airline and tour operator partners since last summer to ensure that we can offer an expansive array of destinations and additional services this summer.

“The availability of two million seats from Cork Airport this summer is testament to the strong demand from this catchment area on business and leisure routes during the peak summer season. Airlines and tour operators always try to match supply to demand and this is very evident in today’s announcement.”

Aer Lingus will operate daily services to Faro and Malaga this summer, as well as increasing the frequency on its service to Barcelona from three to four times a week. This means Aer Lingus will provide 1.1 million seats from Cork Airport this summer.

It is easy to park within walking distance of Cork Airport’s terminal at a special price of €32.95 per week. To avail of this offer, passengers can simply book online at www.corkairport.com – and other early bird offers will be coming soon!
