Easing of Entry Requirements for the Islands of Tahiti

Authorities have eased the conditions of entry into French Polynesia as of today, March 28, 2022. This is welcome news for those wishing to travel to the 118 islands and atolls including Tahiti, Bora Bora, the Tuamotu Islands and Marquesas Islands, The Islands of Tahiti is a true paradise in the South Pacific.

The Islands of Tahiti 

Families can experience an array of water activities on the island’s crystal-clear waters including a scuba diving class with AQUABLUE in the Moorea lagoon, or paddleboarding on the quiet waters around the islands which is suitable for the whole family. Lagoon tours can take the whole party in the back of a 4×4 around the islands and through the lagoons. Families can take part in educational activities such as adopting a coral at the Coral Gardeners or hiking through the wild orchid fields. Whilst staying in The Islands of Tahiti, families can stay together at one of the Tahitian Guesthouses, ranging from bungalows with lush gardens to stylised thatched-roof villas. www.tahititourisme.uk 

Easing of Requirements

As of Monday, March 28, 2022, travellers are no longer required to register on the ETIS platform; complete a self-test upon arrival; complete additional self-tests on days 2 and 5 (non-vaccinated travelers with a compelling reason for travel). It will still be mandatory to perform an antigen test (or RT-PCR) within 24 hours before departure to French Polynesia from Metropolitan France or abroad (if over 12 years). 

Travellers who have registered on the ETIS platform/paid their health surveillance fee may request reimbursement by email ([email protected]) or by post – see www.TahitiTourisme.com/coronavirus

Non-Vaccinated Travellers or Whose Vaccination Schedule is Incomplete:
Travelers (aged 12+ years) who are not fully vaccinated are still subject to compelling family, professional or health reasons, but controls will be carried out by the carriers. Travellers concerned should:
– complete the declaration of compelling reason (available here) accompanied by proof of the reason.
– Provide the declaration at check-in on the day of departure to the airline.
– For travelers with a compelling reason, it is recommended to follow a 7-day self-isolation.

Travellers Arriving by Sea
Entry requirements for travelers arriving by sea are suspended (including either quarantine or a negative test prior to landing). However, they must provide the Maritime Declaration of Health (MHD) prior to arrival in the country.
