Delta Airlines reinstates more flights from UK for summer 2022

Delta will reinstate key US services next summer following the reopening of borders to UK travellers.

Passengers will be able to enjoy more services departing from the UK and make use of the American borders reopening, which officially began yesterday.

Heathrow-JFK flights will operate twice-daily next summer.

In addition, the five-times weekly service from Edinburgh to JFK will restart on 2 May. The Edinburgh-Boston service will recommence on 28 May on a 767, while the Dublin-JFK flight is upgraded to a bigger Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

Services to Delta’s main hub Atlanta will operate twice daily from Heathrow.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President, commented, “We’re focused on bringing back the routes and destinations our customers love, so they enjoy easy, convenient access to a comprehensive, far-reaching network throughout Europe and its neighbouring regions.

“With the lifting of restrictions to the US and abroad, plus growing vaccination rates and tremendous pent-up demand, travel to Europe is expected to surge next summer.”
