DAA Launches ‘The Big Welcome’ Competition

To celebrate The Gathering Year 2013, Dublin Airport Authority has launched ‘The Big Welcome’ competition, which will offer winners the opportunity to fly friends or family home to Ireland and to spend a week in a unique Irish heritage property such as a castle in Kilkenny, a lighthouse in Cork, or a Georgian Mews in central Dublin.

Five lucky winners of ‘The Big Welcome’ will win six free return tickets each to fly guests to Ireland from anywhere in the world during 2013. These guests will spend a week in one of a number of fabulous heritage properties owned by the Irish Landmark Trust and can also avail of a voucher to the value of €5,000 to extend their stay in any hotel registered with irishhotels.com. Complimentary car hire is also on offer as part of the package.

To enter ‘The Big Welcome’, participants simply have to visit the Dublin and Cork Airport websites, www.dublinairport.com and www.corkairport.com, and register. Information about the competition and further details about the fantastic prizes on offer are available on these websites and on www.irishlandmark.com, the website of the Irish Landmark Trust.

Participants can register for the competition each day between 11th – 15th March.

Information about ‘The Big Welcome’ is also available on www.TV3.ie. TV3 is DAA’s media partner for the competition and will promote it across its full programme schedule over the next two weeks. The lucky winners will be announced on TV3, during the commercial break in Coronation Street on Wednesday 20th March.

“We are very pleased to provide this opportunity for people to invite friends and family home to enjoy The Gathering,” said Maurice Hennessy, DAA’s Director Commercial. “Dublin and Cork Airports are two of the key gateways for all visitors to Ireland and the airport websites offer a broad range of useful information about the airports and the customer services on offer.”

“We are delighted to be associated with this initiative,” said Jim Miley, Project Director, The Gathering Ireland 2013. “The Gathering is not only about the excitement and fun of visiting Ireland but the richness of the heritage we have to offer here and ‘The Big Welcome’ is a great way of bringing all this to life.”
