Cyprus has almost returned to pre-Covid tourism levels, the country’s authorities have said.
Latest figures show that the Mediterranean island country’s visitor numbers recovered to 80% of pre-Covid levels during the first 10 months of last year.
Tourism revenues fared even better, returning to 90% of pre-Covid levels last seen in 2019.
Revenue amounted to €2.28bn, just shy of the €2.53bn generated from visiting tourists in the first 10 months of 2019 – the last full year before the pandemic halted travel.
Visitor numbers, during the bulk of 2022, amounted to 2.94 million people, close to the 3.69 million in the same period in 2019.
