With its first Airbus A380 due for delivery in July this year, British Airways has revealed the cabin design and seat layout for the new aircraft. The A380 will be the largest aircraft in the fleet and will carry 469 passengers. Two additional aircraft will be delivered in August and October, and BA plans to announce the routes that the A380 will operate on in the spring.
The 12 A380s on order will feature the cabin designs on the new BA B777-300ER aircraft. In addition, the First cabin will have an upgraded version with 14 seats on the main deck, the Club World cabin will have 44 seats in a 2x4x2 configuration, and there will be 199 seats in World Traveller, with a 3x4x3 layout.
The A380 upper deck will have 53 seats in the new Club World configuration of 2x3x2, 55 seats in a 2x3x2 World Traveller Plus layout, and World Traveller will have 104 seats in a 2x4x2 configuration.
The aircraft will also have the latest Thales inflight entertainment system, which provides 50% more movies and 200% more TV shows. There will also be larger screens in all cabins, and in-seat power supply available in all seats.
