The opening date for Berlin’s new Brandenburg Airport has been postponed – yet again – until 5.00am on 27th October 2013. Tegel and Schoenefeld Airports in the west and east of the city will close at midnight on 26th October.
The new airport was originally supposed to have been opened last June (and airlines made plans accordingly) but problems with the fire protection system have resulted in €1.1 billion extra costs and several delays – to October 2012, then early 2013, then May and now late October.
