The island nation plans major marketing campaigns over the next two years in conjunction with Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport, which will see a joint spend of US$20 million. It is hoped that these measures will have a positive effect and increase tourism numbers.

In addition a  range of new events are planned such as the eighth tournament of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens, with the top 16 Rugby Sevens teams, which will run for two days on 16th – 17th April 2016.

Another first for Singapore is the publication of the first Michelin Guide, the first in the region, showing the vast range of gastronomic delights that awaits the visitor to Singapore’s many restaurants.
