Premium Economy, Fly in comfort
Iberia offers its customers a new cabin for a more premium experience. More and more travellers want to turn their flight into an exclusive experience. For them, Iberia offers an option between Economy and Business class: Premium Economy. This service, available on long-haul flights operated by the airline’s A350 and A330 aircraft, ensures that the customer’s journey, whether for leisure or business, is more comfortable.
In-flight comfort
The first thing customers notice in the Premium Economy cabin is the extra space offered by the seats compared to Economy class. With 94 cm between seats and greater recline, passengers can enjoy a restful journey. These seats are wider, at 48 cm and are equipped with adjustable footrests allowing for a more relaxed posture during the flight. Additionally, there is access to Wi-Fi, individual USB ports, and noise-cancelling headphones.
Each seat is complete with a 12-inch individual touchscreen, with access to up to 600 current titles, including the latest films, international premieres, series, documentaries, podcasts, and video games.
The gastronomic offering is also distinct, with menus designed by DO&CO using the finest ingredients, prepared daily in their kitchens, and served on new porcelain tableware. Passengers are also given an amenity kit with personal care products.
“Premium Economy is a new travel option for customers who usually fly in Economy class but are willing to pay a little more for extra comfort and additional services both on board and on the ground,” says Paula Lafora, Iberia’s Product Design Manager.
The experience begins on the ground
Flying in Premium Economy offers benefits not just on board, but also on the ground. Customers enjoy a higher baggage allowance, with two checked bags included in the ticket, as well as priority check-in and boarding, streamlining the airport experience.
This new class has not only enhanced customer satisfaction but has also strengthened Iberia’s competitive position in the global aviation market. By meeting the needs and expectations of modern passengers, Premium Economy has proven to be an effective strategy for improving the flight experience and fostering customer loyalty.
