UK Comedian Babatunde Aléshé Covers Ireland for New Channel 4 Travel Show

Tourism Ireland has partnered with Channel 4 to create a new mini-series starring British comedian, writer, actor and podcaster Babatunde Aléshé on his latest adventure – this time around Ireland.

Babatunde Aléshé is no stranger to wild adventures but has never fully explored Ireland before now. Armed with nothing but his passport, a backpack and a microphone, the comedian is relying on the warmth and recommendations of the locals he meets along the way to guide and inform him about where he should visit next. He visits lots of hidden gems and meets some great characters, as he explores Derry, the Causeway Coast, Donegal, Galway and Clare.

The digital-first mini-series, titled Where to Next?, includes three episodes, which will be available to view on Channel 4’s YouTube channel. The episodes will also be promoted on the Channel 4 streaming platform, as well as on Channel 4’s Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The promotion is expected to have 4 million views across Channel 4’s social media platforms alone. The partnership also includes a specially created page on Tourism Ireland’s website, Ireland.com.

In the first episode, viewers will see Babatunde visiting the walled city of Derry, enjoying horse riding on Downhill Beach and crossing the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. Episode one is available to watch from today (20 September), episode two will go live on 27 September and episode three on 4 October.

Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain, said: “Tourism Ireland is delighted to support the production of this new mini-series, fronted by well-known comedian, writer, actor and podcaster Babatunde Aléshé. His Irish road trip will take him from coasts to city streets, highlighting our fantastic scenery, culture, attractions and, most importantly, our local characters.

“The partnership is expected to have 4 million views across Channel 4’s social media platforms, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to inspire travellers in Great Britian to put Ireland on their holiday wish-list.”
