Titanic Belfast Celebrates Lunar New Year

Press Eye - Belfast - Northern Ireland - 28th January 2025 Picture by Darren Kidd / PressEye Titanic Belfast celebrates Chinese New Year… Celebrating the Year of the Snake, Titanic Belfast officially launched its Chinese New Year festivities with a free event for visitors and invited guests. The leading tourist attraction hosted an array of entertainment including a traditional Lion Dance performed by ArtsEkta, Face Changing Opera performed by the Confucious Institute and calligraphy demonstration provided by the Chinese Consulate. A lantern display through the Grand Atrium was also unveiled along with a new pop-up exhibition that will be free to view by the public until 12th February. Entitled ‘Chinese Connections’, the exhibition honours the eight Chinese passengers who travelled aboard RMS Titanic and is located on Level 1. Titanic Belfast’s CEO, Judith Owens MBE welcomed guests including Chinese Consul General, Li Nan, Dr. Howard Hastings OBE, Titanic Belfast Board Member and Marianne Cushley, Head of Marketing at the Centre of Competitiveness.
