Organisers Hopeful of Extending Aer Lingus College Classic & Dublin as Host City of Week Zero College Football Game to 2037

Dublin looks set to hold the exclusive hosting rights to the so-called Week Zero season curtain raiser to American Football’s annual College Football season for the next 12 years, at least.

The annual game – currently going under the Aer Lingus College Football Classic name, thanks to sponsorship links – has grown massively in popularity in recent years and attracts anywhere between 20,000 and 40,000 visitors from the US to the Aviva Stadium and further afield each year.

While the current contract runs out after the 2028 game, organisers are confident of striking a deal to keep Dublin as the host city of the game up to 2037 at least.
