Major Redevelopment Plan Lodged for Co Antrim Hotel

Z Property, the UK hotel group, has lodged a significant multi-million pound redevelopment plan for the Cushendall, Co Antrim-based Glens/Thornlea Hotel, which it acquired near the start of this year.

The hotel has been empty and unused for 7 years. Its new owner wants to expand it to 39 bedrooms, and include a 200-person function room, spa facilities, bar and restaurant.

Z Property’s plan would see a huge investment for the town and the creation of new jobs.

“We are very aware of the special place the former Thornlea Hotel has in the hearts of locals and take the responsibility of its renovation seriously, with extensive community consultation continuing to inform every stage of the project,” Hotel Owner quoted Z Property managing director, Scott Kennedy as saying.
