Louise Lynch Named ‘Employee of the Year’ by IHF Mourne Boyne Lakes Branch

Louise Lynch, Food & Beverage Server at Cabra Castle, has been announced as the 2026 Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) Mourne Boyne Lakes Branch ‘Employee of the Year’.

The announcement was made at an awards lunch in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Cavan, where guests gathered to celebrate and recognise fifteen nominees from hotels and guesthouses across counties Cavan, Louth, Meath and Monaghan who have made an outstanding contribution to their workplace.  

Congratulating Louise on the award, IHF Branch Representative James McKenna said that, when selecting her as the winner, the judges highlighted Louise’s attention to detail regarding customer needs, her problem-solving approach and commitment to interdepartmental relationships within the hotel.

At the event, IHF President, Michael Magner congratulated all nominees and said: “Our nominees represent the very best of our profession that thrives on dedication, innovation and the development of its people. There has never been a better time to start a career in tourism and hospitality in a sector that supports 270,000 livelihoods across the country.”

Louise Lynch has worked at Cabra Castle for eleven years in the role of Food & Beverage Server. Louise is known for her reliable and steady performance throughout her career and is a key fountain of information for new team members in the hotel. Colleagues say that ‘’Guests and colleagues appreciate her ability to create a comfortable environment while handling busy, complex events with confidence.’’

Other award presentations on the day included a ‘Lifetime Contribution to the Hospitality Profession Award’ to Anne Meegan, Accounts Administrator at Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort, Louth.
