New figures from domestic/inbound tourism representative group, The Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC), show today that 451,900 international visitors were in Ireland during January, spending just over €414m between them.
An estimated 55% of visitors stayed with family or friends suggesting a high incidence of visits home by non-residents over the holiday period at the start of year. Britain was the highest source market for a month that typically accounts for 5% of annual volume.

ITIC’s dashboard is published in association with AIB and uses a variety of sources including the CSO, carrier and airport data.
