IHF Wicklow Branch Names Lavinia Byrne ‘Employee of the Year’

Lavinia Byrne, Restaurant Supervisor at Glenview Hotel and Leisure Club has been announced as the 24/25 Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) Wicklow Branch ‘Employee of the Year’. 

The announcement was made at an awards lunch in Glenview Hotel & Leisure Club, where guests gathered to celebrate and recognise nominees from hotels and guesthouses across Wicklow who have made an outstanding contribution to their workplace.  


 

Congratulating Lavinia on the award, IHF Wicklow Branch Representative, Joesph Scott-Lennon said the judges highlighted Lavinia’s ability to adapt, her awareness of the importance of ensuring the guests are looked after and openness to working with team members across the hotel.  
 

At the event, IHF President, Michael Magner congratulated all nominees and spoke about the exceptional people within the sector whose contribution to tourism and hospitality is key to its success as Ireland’s largest indigenous employer, supporting over 270,000 livelihoods – including over 14,700 jobs throughout Wicklow. 
 

Lavinia has worked at the Glenview Hotel and Leisure Club for the last six years as Restaurant Supervisor where she is responsible for the breakfast team. As part of her role, Lavinia is dedicated to training new members of the team when they come in, including training students who join the team for work experience and through our international student programme. Colleagues say, “Her dedication, hard work and commitment to excellence in hospitality have truly set her apart.” 

Other presentations on the day included a ‘Rising Star Award’ to William Gregory, Maintenance at Woodenbridge Hotel and Lodge and a ‘Highly Commended Award’ to Kevin Bishop, Bartender at the Arklow Bay Hotel.
