Legendary hospitality expert Francis Brennan has been confirmed as the latest guest speaker for this year’s Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) annual conference, which takes place in Kilkenny in October.
The conference – which takes place, this year, on October 1 at the Lyrath Estate in Kilkenny – is generally viewed as being the most important conference event regarding Ireland’s inbound and domestic tourism industry.

Chiefly known as one of Ireland’s most successful hoteliers – owning and operating the 5-star Park Hotel in Kenmare, Co Kerry with his brother and fellow leading hotelier John Brennan for many years – Mr Brennan has become better known, to a wider audience, in recent years as a television-based troubleshooter for struggling hospitality businesses, via the At Your Service programme on RTÉ 1 television.
He joins an already star-studded panel of speakers for this year’s ITIC Conference, including Minister for Tourism Peter Burke TD, tech entrepreneur Mark Little, Tourism Ireland CEO Alice Mansergh, AIB CEO Colin Hunt, Fáilte Ireland Chair Ruth Andrews, ITIC Chair Niall MacCarthy, Irish Heritage Trust’s Anne O’Donoghue, former Ambassador Dan Mulhall, economist Jim Power, AVEA CEO Catherine Flanagan, and ITIC’s Eoghan O’Mara Walsh.
In conversation with award-winning moderator Dearbhail McDonald, Francis Brennan will discuss the importance of maintaining Irish tourism’s famed “céad míle fáilte”.
