
The Grand Central Hotel Belfast has appointed Jake McHugh as its new General Manager.
Mr McHugh – who originally hails from the UK, and holds a hospitality degree from the University of Westminster – joins the Hastings Hotels-owned Grand Central having built up an impressive résumé, holding senior leadership positions in luxury hotels across Europe, Asia, and Australia.

His previous roles include Head Concierge at Hyatt Carlton Tower in London, Front Office Manager at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, and Director of Rooms in Thailand and Korea, before progressing to General Manager positions in Japan and the UK.
In his new role, Mr McHugh is committed to enhancing the hotel’s reputation as the luxury destination of choice in Belfast city centre. His vision includes elevating the food and beverage experience with innovative menus, a Chef’s Table dining concept, and a greater focus on locally sourced ingredients.
He will also expand the hotel’s concierge service to offer bespoke itineraries, highlighting the best of Belfast, and aims to further enhance the guest experience with more live music and vibrant social experiences at the renowned Seahorse Restaurant and The Observatory.
