Giulia Rondini of Dooley’s Hotel, Waterford Named IHF South-East Employee of the Year

Giulia Rondini, Food & Beverage Supervisor at Dooley’s Hotel, Waterford has been announced as the 2025 Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) South East Branch ‘Employee of the Year’ at a special awards ceremony in the Riverside Park Hotel & Leisure Club, Enniscorthy, Wexford.  

Over 120 guests attended the annual ‘Christmas Gathering and Employee of the Year Awards’ to celebrate and recognise 18 nominees from hotels and guesthouses across the South East who have made an outstanding contribution to their workplace.  

Congratulating Giulia on the award, IHF South East Branch Chair, Patrick Kickham-Lennon said that, when selecting her as the winner, the judges highlighted Giulia’s eagerness to learn, fresh approach to her role and dedication to advancing within the hotel profession.  

At the event, IHF President Michael Magner congratulated all nominees and said “Our nominees represent the very best of our profession that thrives on dedication, innovation and the development of its people. There has never been a better time to start a career in tourism and hospitality in a sector that employs 69,000 in vibrant unique roles across Ireland.”

Giulia has worked at Dooley’s Hotel for over two and a half years and is currently a Food & Beverage Supervisor in the hotel. Giulia is currently completing a full-time International Management course at SETU (South East Technological University). Colleagues say Giulia’s commitment plays a vital role in making every guest’s experience memorable and seamless.

On the night, there were also ‘Special Merit Awards’ presented to Linzie Jadoo (Riverside Park Hotel), Natasha Maguire (Talbot Hotel Carlow) and Alice Cahill (Majestic Hotel Tramore). There were also two ‘Highly Commended Awards’ for Ela Morat (Kilkenny River Court Hotel) and Marie O’Flaherty (The Hoban Hotel, Kilkenny).
