Dublin’s Ashling Hotel Crowned Ireland’s Best City Hotel

The 4-Star luxury Ashling Hotel, in Dublin, has been named Ireland’s best city hotel.

The hotel, located on the River Liffey, close to Heuston Station, the Phoenix Park and the Guinness Brewery, took the crown at the Irish Hotel Awards, recently held in Sligo.

Staff and teams at the hotel received eight nominations across a host of categories at the annual awards ceremony, which recognises and rewards excellence in hospitality and services across Ireland.

The Irish Hotel Awards are the only awards programme that takes an all-Ireland approach to working with the hospitality industry.

Of the eight nominations the hotel received, they emerged winners from five categories:

Winners:

·         City Hotel of the Year –overall winner

·         Maribel Tortajada Montesinos– Housekeeper of the Year – Overall winner

·         Ciara Barry – Marketing Manager of the Year Leinster for the 2nd year

Ashling Hotel Managing Director Ronan Walsh congratulated all award nominees from the Hotel and said they were honoured to be chosen as Ireland’s city hotel of the year.

He added that the hotel would be “striving to continue to improve their best-in-class hospitality experience for guests in the heart of Dublin through their renowned friendly and professional approach.”

Mr Walsh also paid tribute to all of the award nominees and staff at the hotel and guests who had supported them throughout the year.

He said: “I am humbled that the loyalty and professionalism continuously shown by our team are recognised by our peers. To one and all, I applaud you and thank you.”

Following a record summer for bookings from both international and domestic tourists, Autumn has seen the return of the hotel’s extremely popular and state-of-the art conference facilities and the hotel anticipates a busy run up to the end of 2023.

The most recent award successes represent a further boost for the hotel who have also announced plans to begin significant refurbishment works on the hotel in January 2024.

The works will see a redesign on the ground floor at the Ashling Hotel along with significant investment in plant and machinery as we continue our journey towards zero carbon emissions.

This latest investment in the hotel reaffirms the Ashling’s commitment to improving customer experience at the hotel, having invested €250,000 last summer to add to and enhance the conference and meeting facilities, with 15 dedicated meeting/board rooms and larger conference rooms.

Speaking about further plans for the rest of 2023 and 2024, Mr Walsh said:

“At the Ashling Hotel we are all excited and looking forward to many wonderful years ahead as we confirm the hotel as “Your hotel in the city by the park”.”
