Danielle MacDonald Named IHF Wickow Branch ‘Employee of the Year’

Danielle MacDonald, Shift Leader at Woodenbridge Hotel & Lodge has been announced as the 2026 Irish Hotels Federation (IHF) Wicklow Branch ‘Employee of the Year’.

The announcement was made at an awards lunch in Glenview Hotel & Leisure Club, where guests gathered to celebrate and recognise nominees from hotels and guesthouses across Wicklow who have made an outstanding contribution to their workplace. 

Congratulating Danielle on the award, IHF Wicklow Branch Chair, Joseph Scott-Lennon said the judges highlighted Danielle’s proactive nature, solutions-focused approach and dedication to outstanding customer service.

At the event, IHF President, Michael Magner congratulated all nominees and said “Our nominees represent the very best of our profession that thrives on dedication, innovation and the development of its people. There has never been a better time to start a career in tourism and hospitality in a sector that employs 69,000 in vibrant unique roles across Ireland including 14,800 in Wicklow.”

Danielle has worked at Woodbridge Hotel & Lodge for the last three years and is currently undertaking a Tourism and Hospitality Management course at Technological University Dublin. Colleagues say “Danielle’s dedication to exceptional customer service is one of her greatest strengths. Her problem-solving abilities, reliability and composed demeanour ensure guests consistently receive excellent service.
