Trigon Hotels – the Cork-based hotel group – has appointed Angela Canny as Group Sales and Marketing Director. She brings significant expertise in business development and AI to the role, bridging traditional hospitality management with future-facing technology.
Ms Canny has previously worked as EMEA Sales Director for internet marketing service Sojern, focusing on programmatic advertising solutions for hotels. She was also a partner at Manchester-based corporate boutique investment house, IT Capital, specialising in the rapid growth of mid-sized tourism and hospitality businesses across the UK and Ireland.
Ms Canny is a second-generation hotelier having grown up in the business and completing her Hons Degree in Birmingham. She commenced her post graduate career at Marriott Hotels in Miami, Florida before moving on to other global hotel brands including Le Meridien and Radisson groups.
Trigon operates three hotels in Cork, namely The Metropole Hotel in the city centre, Cork Airport Hotel and Cork International Hotel.
She worked for iconic tourist attractions including Granada Studios and the Guinness Storehouse before pivoting into asset management, restructuring hotels and venues across Ireland, UK, Germany and Belgium through her consultancy, Canny Solutions.
She entered the tech space after a postgraduate course in Artificial Intelligence for Business Strategy at MIT and spent six years leading European sales teams in advertising solutions and automation processes for the hospitality sector.
