Edward Kavanagh, Chief Engineer at Conrad Dublin, was honoured as Environmental & Facilities Manager of the Year at last week’s Irish Hospitality Institute 2025/2026 Hospitality Management Awards (HMAs).
The awards ceremony, held on Thursday, November 27th at Dublin’s Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road, was a prestigious celebration of excellence within Ireland’s bustling hospitality industry. The awards provide a unique opportunity to highlight and acknowledge the brilliant contributions of individuals who handle their roles with the utmost professionalism and dedication.

Mr Kavanagh took home the coveted award for Environmental & Facilities Manager 2025, standing out in a list of five stellar nominees from hotels across Ireland. This award was a recognition of his capability, technical skills, innovation, passion and ability to demonstrate continuous professional development.
He joined the team at Conrad Dublin nearly six years ago, bringing not only unparalleled expertise but a genuine passion for people and for the place he helps maintain every day.
Mr Kavanagh was nominated for this award by Conrad Dublin’s General Manager, Lynn McLaughlin, who says that his recognition is a momentous occasion for the luxury hotel. “I am thrilled that the IHI has given Edward the recognition he so much deserves. What really makes Ed stand out is the way he leads. He supports his team, takes their ideas on board and helps make Conrad Dublin not only a beautiful hotel, but a safe, efficient, and caring place for both guests and colleagues. Under his leadership, our engineering team has reached major milestones, including a 5% reduction in energy use, diverting over 60% of waste from landfill, and earning multiple environmental certifications – all while keeping guest comfort and experience at the heart of everything we do”.
