A total of 14 Irish hotels have been awarded Michelin Keys in the first year of the Michelin Guide’s new guide for top hotels across Ireland and the UK.
The new Michelin Key is aimed at doing for hotels what the famed Michelin Guide does for top restaurants around the world.
The awards – which measure everything from service, amenities to architecture, design and ambience – cover a one key, two key and three key range.
Two Irish hotels – Adare Manor, in Co Limerick; and Ballyfin Demesne, in Co Laois – were awarded three keys; while three hotels gained a two-key rating – Sheen Falls Lodge, in Co Kerry; Cashel Palace, in Co Tipperary, and The Merrion Hotel in Dublin City Centre.
A further nine hotels were awarded one key each: Gregans Castle Hotel, in Co Clare; Cliff House Hotel, in Co Waterford; Castlemartyr Resort, in Co Cork; the Dylan Hotel, in Dublin; the Wilder Townhouse, in Dublin; The Killarney Park, in Co Kerry; No.1 Pery Square, in Limerick; and Co Clare’s Dromoland Castle.
