Part four of some abstract destinations you can stay in Ireland this summer. This list is the shortest of the four but has some really cool spots. A cottage bar, a small shepherd’s hut and an old stable house to mention a few. Connaught has great potential to make some amazing memories this summer.

Galway:

A quaint Cottage, located on the host’s property, and situated in a rural setting. O’Mainnin’s Cottage Bar is truly unique as it comes with its own built-in Bar and traditional old Irish Cottage Interior. It comes equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, downstairs toilet and shower room, and a spacious Lounge/Bar area. A cozy double bedroom is located on the upper floor of the property. This location was personally recommended to me by a friend of mine, this one is definitely high up on my list, top 3.

Leitrim:

The Stables is one of four apartments in the courtyard of The Old Rectory Country House. Leitrim is a beautiful county with lots of options for outdoor pursuits. Equally, you will love the peace and tranquility at The Old Rectory and the chance to unwind from the busy and currently unpredictable world around us. You also have access to the communal hot tub looking out at Fenagh Abbey and Fenagh Lake. Another one-bedroom property so again, a perfect little spot for a romantic getaway.

Mayo:

The Shepherd’s Hut is on the banks of the Black Oak River in Newport. The property is so stand out to me, I love that the owners made such a pint-sized place so homey and warm. The Shepherd’s Hut really does feel like a one-of-a-kind experience for you and your partner.  It has a fantastic view of the river and is a short distance from the village where you will find various local restaurants and pubs and only a 10-minute drive to Westport. This destination is made for explorers, getting around by feet or by cycling is a must to take in the surroundings.

Roscommon:

Located in the heart of Ireland this charming three-bedroom house is set on the grounds of Gilligan’s farm in Roscommon. Rural setting, just 5km outside Roscommon Town. This modern family home with wide open gardens to explore throughout the day. If you fancy a BBQ, they have got you covered! Gilligan Meats know a thing or two about a good steak. Holding six guests with three bedrooms and four beds, its sounds like a comfortable weekend away with the family.

Sligo:

The Ox Mountain Cottage, built in late 1800, has been lovingly restored giving a lovely feeling of a cosy and charming hideaway with great privacy. The cottage is simply decorated to create a clean, bright, attractive and comfortable place to stay that is reminiscent of the cottage’s history as a family home and farmhouse situated within a rustic mountain setting. The cottage contains one large bedroom with two double sized beds and with a cozy living room to relax and unwind as you watch some TV or get lost in a book in front of the wood burning stove. The exterior of the cottage has a large seating area and private parking to one side. The seating area has a large picnic table and enjoys unspoilt views of the mountainous valley and nearby woodlands that lay close enough for you to spot forest life as you enjoy a beverage or BBQ.
