A perfect cure to the January blues and a chance to let your hair down (and escape the madness of the January sales season). It is time again for the Irish Travel Industry Awards, another awards ceremony for suppliers and agents in the travel industry in Ireland. As always, friends, colleagues and co-workers don their finest satin, sequins and sparkle. This is an opportunity to celebrate achievement, to connect, share and swap stories and enjoy ourselves.

The victorious will be announced at the gala banquet, held in the historic Round Room at Dublin’s Mansion House. Given the impending storm, organisers have advised that all event formalities will be wrapped up by 11pm. Best of luck to all the worthy nominees!

The Irish Travel Industry Awards are held in association with MSC Cruises with the event hosted by Eoghan Corry, journalist and travel expert in every sense of the word.

This marks the 13th awards ceremony and is an initiative of the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA), supported by Travel Centres and Worldchoice.

The difficult job of judging the Member Award Winners is carried out by an independent judging panel comprised of Tom Shanahan, Maria Gildea and Richard Cullen. He has told me nothing, travel family is thicker than blood.
The evening with celebratory pre-drinks at a reception in Café en Seine (sponsored by JetBlue), the night begins.

I am a guest at the Visit USA table at the Irish Travel Industry Awards this evening – a suitable match given the destinations I have visited this year the length and breadth of the United States.

The main event is across the road at the Mansion House with the ceremony. Stay tuned to ITTN for more updates and all the winners of the night.

Best of luck and safe travels!
