Worth the Wait: Center Parcs Unveils its €100m Makeover at Longford Forest

Center Parcs

Since it opened in 2019 in Longford Forest, Center Parcs has been a huge success with families and kids. Now just 7 years later it has gone through a €100 million euro facelift and some of the new additions are hugely impressive.

The site has gone through a major transformation, including the addition of 83 new lodges, facility upgrades, and a new zipline experience. The refurbishments mean that the holiday resort will now be able to house around 3,500 guests.

Longford Forest is Ireland’s first Center Parcs village, nestled in 400 acres of stunning forest approximately five kilometres from the town of Ballymahon.

Centre Parcs longford has welcomed more than one million visitors since opening in 2019.

For the first time, the resort is adding its iconic two-storey treehouse lodges to the Irish site, each featuring personal hot tubs, saunas and in-room gaming dens. At the heart of this transformation is the construction of 83 new lodges.

All lodges, some of which can sleep up to six people, will run on an air-source heat pump network and be installed with high-efficiency LED lighting. The addition of these lodges will offer more choice to families and groups of all sizes.

And without question the most eye catching of these lodges are the “Treehouse Accommodation” . These 2 storey lodges, nestled amongst the trees accessed by walkways through the forest across to your private outdoor walkway to reach your very own games den complete with pool table and TV. Then in the evening, for the ultimate luxury, slip into your hot tub, whether sun or stars, it’s the perfect way to enjoy your forest surroundings.

In addition, guests will be able to zoom through the treetops on an exhilarating new aerial zipline, named ‘Forest Glider’, which is described as a ‘continuous-loop, gravity-fed ride’ and is expected to open in autumn 2026.

In addition to the new accommodation and exhilarating zip lines, a new dining experience has been added. This new lakeside restaurant will provide fresh dining options with fabulous views of the resorts central lake, catering to families looking to unwind after a day full of activities.

Some of the sites best loved facilities will also get a facelift, including the indoor water park, Subtropical Swimming Paradise, and the Aqua Sana Spa. With all this latest investment the resort is set to attract even more visitors so don’t wait and secure your stay, it promises to be the best staycation yet.
