Nine Beaches and Coves of Salou

Summertime turns the 9 beaches and coves of Salou into a true meeting point for those who love the sun and the sea, water sports, nature, a healthy lifestyle… Are your clients in for a quick trip around them?

The journey around the 9 beaches – all of which were awarded the 14001 Environmental Management standard– begins at Ponent Beach, in the most western point of Salou. With just over 0.6 miles, this urban beach stands out due to its accessibility and closeness to the city centre of the capital of Costa Daurada.

Next, arrive at Llevant Beach, probably, the most iconic and representative beach in the destination. This year, it was once again awarded with the Blue Flag certificate, which acknowledges its excellence, besides having also received the “Q” Quality Flag, together with Ponent Beach. Located in parallel with Passeig Jaume I and the Modernist villas of Salou, this urban beach –of almost 1 mile long– becomes the main city’s neuralgic point.

As you follow the Coastal Path ─ a spectacular sustainable project of recuperation of Salou’s coastline─ just by the sea, we enter Capellans Beach – also awarded with a Blue Flag this year–, one of the most charming places in Salou. With just over 200 metres, this small beach provides very easy access to the Mediterranean Sea, as well as other services, which include showers, toilets and two access ramps for people with reduced mobility.

The next beach is actually a cove: Llenguadets, a true jewel by the sea. This is a quiet and peaceful cove, with crystal-clear waters and gold sand, ideal for those willing to escape from routine.

Now, and still following the stunning Coastal Path is Llarga Beach, a natural spot where you can enjoy a huge range of outdoor activities.

The four coves located in the most east point of Cap Salou are the quietest and most remote ones but, at the same time, they still have their original eco-friendly habitat and special relationship with the environment, these are Penya TalladaCala FontCala Vinya and Cala Crancs.

Penya Tallada Cove is situated in a simply magical location. The whim of nature provides bathers with outstanding scenery, thanks to spectacular rocks, pine forests and local vegetation around it.

You can follow a number of beautiful paths to discover the small Cala Font – also known as Cala Pinetell– and Cala Vinya, located just a few metres from each other. They are ideal for the practice of activities such as snorkelling, thanks to the shallow-depth and crystal-clear waters in the area.

Finally, to Cala Crancs the most eastern cove on the coastline of Salou. It’s surrounded by imposing rocks and vegetation, and it’s accessible from Cap Salou on foot or by bicycle, which comes to reinforce the natural spirit of this beautiful spot, and which you’ll get to admire from the spectacular Cala Morisca viewpoint.

So there you have it: if you love beaches, activities and, overall, family holidays, enjoy a 9 beaches and coves in a responsible waySalou awaits you better than ever!
