Heading to Asia? Experience the Nordic Sensation of Flying with Finnair

Finnair, Finland’s flag carrier that recently celebrated its centenary, is celebrating yet another milestone: ten years of direct flights between Dublin and its home hub, Helsinki.

Established in 1923, the iconic Nordic airline connects travellers to over 80 destinations around the world and has been chosen as the Best Airline in Northern Europe in the Skytrax Awards an impressive 14 times in a row. This coming summer season, Finnair will fly 10 weekly flights between Dublin and Helsinki—with great connections to the Nordics, Baltics, and an extensive network in Asia.

Destination Asia? Finnair will get you there via Helsinki

Though Finnair is at home in the Nordics, the airline is known for its smooth connections to megacities in Asia. Finnair has an extensive network of routes to numerous Asian destinations—11 to be exact.

Finnair offers daily flights to Delhi, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore all year round. Flights to Bangkok are operated daily during the summer and twice a day during the winter season. During the winter months, Finnair also operates a daily flight to Phuket. As one of the few European airlines increasing capacity to China, the airline will add one more weekly flight to Shanghai this summer, bringing the weekly total to four flights.

Your gateway to Japan

Finnair is of course known for its unrivalled network to Japan and will once again be the biggest European airline in Japan this summer season. The airline will operate daily flights to both Haneda and Narita in Tokyo, daily flights to Osaka, and up to four weekly flights to Nagoya.

Thanks to a joint effort between Finnair, British Airways, Iberia and Japan Airlines, you have several daily flights to choose from these partner airlines, too. This makes it easy to mix and match flights to suit your travel schedule best.

Elevate your travel experience to new heights

When choosing Finnair on your way to Asia, you can now enjoy an entirely redesigned cabin on board the long-haul fleet. Finnair’s reimagined long-haul Business Class is the embodiment of Finnair—a signature premium Nordic experience down to the very last detail.

On route to Asia, Business Class offers maximum comfort and privacy in the one-of-a-kind AirLounge seat with direct aisle access and maximised personal space. Best-in-class sleep comfort is guaranteed with bedding from the Finnish design house, Marimekko. You’ll be treated to two meal services, all served from chinaware created exclusively for Finnair by the Finnish design icon Iittala. Matching drinks complete your dining experiences, and the famous Finnair blueberry juice is served to your heart’s content.

A new experience in the air in Premium Economy

All of Finnair’s long-haul aircraft now also feature Premium Economy Class, sitting comfortably in a cabin of its own between Business and Economy Class. Finnair first introduced Premium Economy in 2022. The new travel class offers more choice, space, and comfort, with a 7” (17.5cm) wider seat pitch compared to the Economy Class seat, alongside memory foam cushions, universal PC power and USB-A outlets as well as plenty of storage.

Economy Class, an updated classic

In Finnair’s refreshed long-haul cabin, you can get comfortable in a wide Economy Class seat (46 cm), featuring memory foam cushions and an in-flight entertainment system with 12” screens. The entire Airbus fleet has been fitted with Wi-Fi, and Finnair Plus customers can enjoy a complimentary internet package on their flight.

To the delight of short-haul passengers, Finnair is currently renewing the cabins of its Embraer aircraft. From Dublin Airport, Finnair operates with both Embraer and Airbus A320 aircraft.

Finnair offers great, smooth connections to all the destinations in Asia via its home hub, Helsinki. With everything conveniently under just one roof, you can expect a transfer time as short as 40 minutes when flying in from Dublin Airport. Finnair is part of the oneworld alliance.
