Get Ready for Summer 2025 in Evia with Club Med Gregolimano

ITTN’s Allie Sheehan recently had the opportunity to visit Club Med Gregolimano on the island of Evia in the Aegean Sea.

Set on a secluded beach, this property is perfect for active families, sports lovers, and culture enthusiasts. This resort has so much to explore offering the perfect opportunity to unwind and relax while also enjoying social and sports activities.

About the Resort

With a 900-km coastline, Evia is the second-largest Greek island. Club Med Gregolimano was founded in 1977 and is located at the foot of a mountain offering stunning mountain and beach views. While walking around the resort you can take in the environment of a pine forest and golden beaches. If you look closely you will also see some archaeological finds of pottery and bones which date back to 500 BC.

Interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel drew his inspiration for the extension from the gentle Greek way of life. The colour palette is influenced by the environment and fits in nicely with the Club Med brand and the island.

The resort offers three accommodation options: the main hotel, the Olympe Quarter and the Pine Forest. The main hotel offers rooms with a terrace or balcony all facing the sea or mountains. The Olympe quarter is a small cluster of white buildings with a garden or sea view and the Pine Forest offers deluxe suites which offer a more tranquil experience.

There are two restaurants and two bars on Gregolimano, the main restaurant – The Pleiades, the gourmet club – The Olea, the main bar – The Aphrodite and the beach bar. The main restaurant was redesigned to the style of the region and has something for everyone with daily specialities and local dishes. My personal favourite is hummus and tzatziki, two of the best Greek dips. The gourmet club is an a la carte restaurant that offers all-day dining. They serve brunch from 10am-4pm and with dinner in the evening. I would recommend trying the brunch in the gourmet club, I had the avocado toast and tried some pancakes. The main bar serves coffee, drinks and snacks throughout the day. They also set up a mini buffet for children before the main restaurant opens. The beach bar is the perfect spot to stay hydrated at the beach, whether it’s water to cool down in the heat or a cocktail at sunset.

Perfect for families

Club Med Gregolimano is the perfect getaway for families, the resort welcomes children from age 2 and offers all-day supervision for children 4 and up. Children from 4 can also partake in water skiing. There’s Teens Club Med for 11-13 and Chill Pass Club Med for 14-17 making sure there’s a wide range of activities for every age. The specially trained G.O.s work with the children to encourage them to interact and get involved in the resort’s activities.

Wellness and Sports

During the trip, I experienced the new wellness side of Club Med Gregolimano. The resort has a sport for everyone sailing to yoga and it’s the biggest resort for water skiing. Each day is packed full of activities from early-rise yoga to step aerobics, tennis and paddle and sailing lessons. There really is something for every level. The renovation brought the zen pool, which is the perfect place to relax, especially after morning yoga, the noise is kept to a minimum and it’s situated in the pine forest for a truly peaceful environment. The main swimming pool, located in the heart of the resort is a new 400m2 pool and there are lots of activities here during the day including water aerobics. For guests who like to stay fit while on holiday, there’s a multitude of fitness classes including step, HIIT, body pump, group running/walking and pilates. The resort also offers team sports daily including beach volleyball and beach soccer. If you’re a water lover like me, this is the perfect place for you, the resort offers daily sailing lessons and there are plenty of opportunities to go jet skiing and paddleboarding. While I wasn’t brave enough to stand up, paddleboarding was one of my favourite activities and the sea was just beautiful.

The spa is also a must-experience at the resort. I was lucky enough to receive a taster massage during my stay which was amazing. The staff were so attentive, and the relaxation garden was very peaceful.

In true Club Med style, each night at the resort is themed with everyone getting involved. There are food specials and entertainment to accompany each theme. While visiting, we experienced white night, traditional Mediterranean, elegant evening, and black and white night. Make sure to pack options! Most nights there’s a dance performance and make sure to learn the Club Med crazy signs to get involved in the dancing.

The Local Area

While Club Med Gregolimano is a secluded resort, the local town is approx. 5km away. During our few days on the island, we went on a boat excursion to a private beach where we sampled local Greek food and had the opportunity to dip in the sea. We then visited the local fishing village with lots of shops and bars. The resort also offers excursions that can take you on nature walks, archaeological visits, and day trips to Athens.

Club Med is founded on a core principle: enjoying vacations in harmony with pristine nature. For more than sixty years, the brand has embraced the values and practices of what is now recognised as sustainable development. The Gregolimano resort is no different, prioritising the environment through water and energy conservation, recycling initiatives, eco-certification, and support for local communities. Every effort is thoughtfully designed to preserve and respect the natural world.

Club Med is a well-known brand founded in 1950 and is the inventor of the all-inclusive holiday concept. I really enjoy travelling somewhere knowing that everything is included. This trip to Club Med Gregolimano allowed me to experience everything a Club Med resort has to offer.
