ITTN to Publish Dubai eNews for Ireland

Your Irish Travel Trade News team is pleased to announce that ITTN has been commissioned by the Government of Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing to publish a series of dedicated Dubai ezines for the Irish travel industry. The first of these will be published later this month.

A Future for the ITAA?

Michael Doorley, who looks set to become Treasurer of the Irish Travel Agents Association on 14th March, stated last week: "The ITAA is haemorrhaging membership on a yearly basis and if this trend continues there will not be sufficient funds to keep the organisation going. Agents are leaving (mainly larger agents who pay more) because they can't see any value or return for their membership fee. The 'collective bond' glue that kept members on board doesn't have a broad appeal anymore."

Air France Adds Paris – Wuhan in April

"Air France will be launching a new Paris CDG – Wuhan service on 11th April, bringing Air France / KLM's Chinese destinations to eight with 85 flights a week from Paris or Amsterdam," Martina Coogan told attendees of last week's Air France / KLM media dinner in Dublin.

Jedward Boosts Baku Bookings

Latest figures from Hotels.com show that there has been a 133% increase in Irish searches for Baku in Azerbaijan, where the Eurovision Song Contest final will be held, compared to the same period last year – indicating that many Irish people are planning to make the trip to Baku to cheer Jedward on. Oh my God!
