ITAA Board to Discuss Presidency
The Board of the Irish Travel Agents Association met on 29th June todiscuss the position of ITAA President, following its decision to appoint the current President, Pat Dawson, as the ITAA's new Interim Manager on a six-month contract as from 1st July 2011.
The meeting accepted Pat Dawson's resignation as President.

CAR Issues Autumn Licensing Timetable
Last Friday, 24th June, the Commission for Aviation Regulation issued its timetable for the travel trade's autumn licensing round, and advised applicants to submit their applications as soon as possible after the round opens on 18th July 2011.
The latest date for submission of applications is the 15th August 2011. Applications submitted after this date will each be subject to a levy of €1,956, while those received after 1st September 2011 will each be subject to a levy of €3,913.

Gordon Pullen Opens GPS Travel
The latest company to be awarded a travel agency licence (number 0709) is Apex Travel Consulting Ltd, which is owned by Gordon Pullen, previously with Apex Travel, Abbey Travel and (in the distant past!) Tedcastle Travel.

Lee Osborne Joins BookaBed
Lee Osborne has joined BookaBed as Business Development Manager.
He was previously with Sunway Holidays for nine years, where he worked as Agency Sales Manager.

Slattery Travel Enters East Cork Travel Stable
Brendan Barry's Toureen Trading Ltd of Midleton, Co Cork, trading as East Cork Travel and Discover Travel, has taken over Slattery Travel in Fermoy.
Joe Slattery plans to retire from the business after almost 50 years in the business – but the Slattery Travel name will remain above the door.
