Inaugural Entrepreneur of the Year Award
A new joint initiative, the Irish Travel Industry Entrepreneur of the Year Award, has been launched by the Association of Foreign Airlines (AFA), the Irish Tour Operators Federation (ITOF), and Irish Travel Trade News (ITTN), supported and independently chaired by Grant Thornton Ireland.
This award will be presented to an individual company principal or company who is a licensed travel agent or who is a supplier who sells their products or services via licensed travel agents. The judging criteria place emphasis on entrepreneurial acumen and skills, product innovation, and proven service to the Irish travel industry. Read more >>>

Flying High with Worldchoice at Mount Wolseley
Worldchoice Ireland will be holding its 2011 conference, 'Flying High with Worldchoice', at the 4-star Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Country Club, Tullow, Co Carlow, on Saturday 3rd December 2011. The event will include supplier workshop sessions, guest speakers, an awards ceremony and a gala dinner, including dancing with JuiceBox followed by a disco.

Shannon Development Plans Major New Tourist Attraction
Shannon Development is seeking investors for a major visitor attraction, the Bunratty Landbank project, on a 48-hectare (120-acre) site next to the world famous Bunratty Castle and Folk Park in Co Clare.
Dr Vincent Cunnane, Chief Executive of Shannon Development, said: "Shannon Heritage, our tourism subsidiary company, owns and manages Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, which is already a major international visitor attraction.
